The Best Form Builders in 2026, Compared From Their Own Pricing Pages

By , Founder and CEO, VonzaLast reviewed Vendor pages read on

The best form builder depends on what the form has to do. Typeform suits polished, conversational forms and quizzes, from $28 a month billed yearly. Jotform suits teams that want a ready-made form for everything and payments with no extra Jotform transaction fee, from $34 a month billed yearly. Tally and Fillout have the roomiest free plans, and Google Forms and Microsoft Forms come with the office suite you may already pay for. Paperform suits payment forms that read like a web page with no cut of sales, Zoho Forms suits teams on Zoho and scored quizzes, Formstack and Cognito Forms suit teams with many entries and workflows, and WPForms suits a WordPress site. Vonza suits creators and small businesses who want each form to take the payment, create the contact and start the follow-up in the same account that sells their courses, products and bookings.

A form builder makes the forms that collect what your business runs on: contact details and leads, registrations, applications, quiz answers, orders and payments, without writing code. Twelve builders are compared here: eleven competitors and Vonza, which publishes this guide. The table gives each one’s lowest paid price, free plan limits, fee on payments and four features exactly as its own page stated them on 7 November 2026.

This guide replaces our older roundup of form builders for online stores. That post named tools without prices; every figure below is read fresh from each vendor’s own page, and the point it made still stands: a form that feeds your contacts, emails and checkout saves you copying answers from one tool to the next.

The twelve form builders, one by one

  1. 1. Vonza

    Publisher

Best for: Creators, coaches and small businesses who want each form to take payment, create the CRM contact and start the follow-up in the account that also sells their courses, products and bookings

The new Vonza Forms builds a form from a one-sentence description with Vonza AI, from one of 61 templates in 12 categories, or from scratch with more than 40 question and content blocks, including matrix, ranking, signature, calculated and repeating fields. A form can ask one question at a time, score a quiz, and take one-time, subscription, installment or pay-what-you-want payments by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna (through Stripe), PayPal for one-time payments and Paystack for Nigerian naira, with up to 5 add-ons at checkout. Every respondent who leaves an email becomes a CRM contact, tagged and ready for an automation that enrols them in a course or starts an email sequence.

Vonza is the publisher of this guide. Vonza Forms is part of the Vonza platform rather than a standalone form tool, and it connects to other apps through webhooks to Zapier, Make or your own server rather than native Zapier, Google Sheets or Slack apps. AI generation uses AI credits, and installment and flexible prices need an eligible plan.

Every plan is metered by responses: Basic includes 100 a month, Plus 1,000 and Business 10,000. Removing the Typeform branding needs Plus, and the free plan’s response limit is not stated on Typeform’s own pages.

Its products include an AI form builder, conditional logic, card forms for quizzes and Jotform Sign for e-signed documents.

Google’s Forms page lists premade templates, logic that shows relevant questions based on previous answers, quizzes to test knowledge, and themes in your organisation’s colours, images and fonts.

The Workspace pricing page does not list Forms by plan, and neither page we read mentions taking payments, generating a form with AI or removing branding. Free personal use is not stated on them either.

How to choose a form builder

Start with what happens after someone presses submit: who gets the answers, and what should happen next. Then check these, in this order.

What the free plan really allows
Free plans are capped by forms, responses a month or payment submissions. Count how many responses you expect in a busy month, not a quiet one.
Payments, and what they cost
If the form sells, check which payment providers it supports, whether it takes recurring or installment payments, and whether the builder adds its own fee on top of the provider’s.
Logic and calculations
Showing or skipping questions based on earlier answers keeps forms short. Calculations add up an order total or a quiz score without a spreadsheet.
Quizzes and scoring
For a lead quiz or a knowledge check, look for points per answer, a pass mark and a result screen that changes with the score.
AI and templates
An AI builder or a template close to your use case gets a first draft live in minutes. Check whether AI generation costs extra credits.
Your brand on the form
Removing the builder’s own badge is a paid feature on almost every tool. Check which plan removes it and whether you can add your logo, fonts and colours.
Where the answers go
A respondent who becomes a contact, gets a confirmation email and lands in the right follow-up saves copying answers by hand. Check the native integrations, or webhooks to Zapier or Make.

How we chose

  • Every competitor figure comes from the vendor’s own pricing or product page, read on 2026-11-07 and saved as plain text; nothing comes from review sites, listicles or memory.
  • The twelve cover the main ways people build forms: conversational (Typeform), template-led (Jotform), inside an office suite (Google Forms, Microsoft Forms), free-first (Tally, Fillout), page-style with payments (Paperform), workflow-heavy (Formstack, Cognito Forms), inside a business suite (Zoho Forms), and on WordPress (WPForms). Wufoo, Formsite and Formbakery, named in our older roundup, are left out to keep the guide to twelve.
  • “Not stated” means the page did not mention it, not that the tool lacks it; “not published” means the page gave no figure. Where a page showed only one billing option, the other is marked as not readable.
  • Vonza is the publisher and appears first with its live price; its row is written from its own product, and no competitor is scored or ranked.

Questions

Answered from the pages we read, with the date we read them.

The one that fits what your form has to do. For conversational forms and quizzes, Typeform (from $28 a month billed yearly). For a template for everything and payments with no extra Jotform fee, Jotform (from $34 a month billed yearly). For a roomy free plan, Tally or Fillout. For forms inside an office suite you already pay for, Google Forms or Microsoft Forms; for a WordPress site, WPForms. Vonza suits creators and small businesses who want the form, the payment and the follow-up in the account that sells their courses, products and bookings.

On the vendors’ own pages, Tally’s free plan allows unlimited forms and submissions within fair use, Fillout’s 1,000 responses a month, Zoho Forms’ 500 a month on 3 forms, Jotform’s 100 a month on 5 forms, Cognito Forms’ 100 entries a month and Paperform’s 30 submissions a month. Typeform has a free plan with a limit it does not publish, and Formstack has a 14-day trial instead. Vonza offers a 14-day free trial on every plan.

Jotform says it charges no additional transaction fee, and Paperform says it takes no cut of what you sell. WPForms takes 3% on its free version or an inactive licence and none on Pro. Typeform, Tally, Fillout, Formstack, Cognito Forms and Zoho Forms do not publish a fee on their pricing pages, and your payment provider charges its own processing fee on every builder. Vonza lists its platform fee per transaction by plan on its pricing page.

Typeform, Jotform, Tally, Fillout, Paperform, Zoho Forms and WPForms all state AI form creation on their own pages, and Microsoft Forms mentions built-in AI recommendations. In Vonza Forms you describe the form in a sentence and Vonza AI writes the questions, picks the blocks and styles it, using AI credits.

Typeform has knowledge and outcome quizzes with scores, Zoho Forms quizzes with answer keys, scoring and a timer, WPForms graded, personality and weighted quizzes, and Fillout and Paperform scoring through calculations. Google Forms and Microsoft Forms make quick knowledge quizzes. Vonza’s Quiz mode gives points per answer, a pass mark, and shows the score and the right answers after submit.

Yes, on a paid plan of most builders: Jotform, Zoho Forms and Cognito Forms on their paid plans, Typeform from Plus, Tally and Paperform from Pro, and Fillout fully from Pro. Paperform’s free badge cannot be turned off. In Vonza Forms you can remove the “Made with Vonza” badge on eligible plans.

A standalone builder is enough when a form only collects answers and you connect it to other tools yourself. If the form sells a course, a booking or a membership, a platform where the form, the checkout, the contact and the follow-up email live together saves the connecting. That is the case for Vonza Forms, where every respondent who leaves an email becomes a CRM contact.
