A Community Events Platform for Q&As, Workshops and Live Streams

Host every event inside your Vonza community. Start from a format, repeat it on a schedule, add a meeting link or an address, and let members RSVP, get reminder emails and save it to their calendar. When you want to talk face to face, go live from a post and share the recording in the feed.

Plan it once, and members know where to be

Every event has its own page in the community with when it starts, where to join and who is going. Members RSVP in one tap and get reminders by email.

  • RSVP, reminders and a calendar file

Members open the event, tap I’m going and see how many others are coming. Reminder emails go out 24 hours, 30 minutes and 5 minutes before the start, and Add to calendar saves an .ics file for any calendar app.

    • Repeat it on a schedule

Make any event a series: every day, week, month or year, at an interval from 1 to 52, ending never, after a number of dates or on a date. Each date keeps its own RSVPs, and Vonza warns you when clocks change during a series.

    • A meeting link or an address

Pick a location label for the link you paste: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, GoTo Meeting or Outlook. Choose In person to add an address, or Other for anything else. Members see where to join, and the link opens when it’s time.

Eight ways to start an event

Pick a format and Vonza fills in a title, description, length and place, then adds the tools that kind of event needs. You can change everything after.

  • From scratch

A blank event with just the basics: title, description, cover image, time, place and who can see it.

  • Q&A

Collect questions before the event in a queue sorted by upvotes, then mark each one answered or hide it.

  • Workshop

An agenda of up to 30 parts with a length each, materials from content linked to the community, and homework.

  • Co-working

Focus blocks and breaks you set, a check-in prompt, and a Vonza video room with everyone on camera.

  • Webinar

A talk with questions after, with a registration cap and waitlist setting, and the option to host it on Vonza.

  • Office hours

Drop-in time split into slots: set a slot length and a gap between slots, and Vonza makes the slots for each date.

  • Live stream

Broadcast to the community. A Vonza live stream is created when you save, and the recording can be posted after.

  • Meetup

Meet in person, with the address, a map link, an RSVP cap setting and venue notes such as entrance and parking.

Community live streaming, right in the feed

Go live from the post composer: give the stream a title, pick a space and Vonza starts the stream and posts it to the feed. Members join from the post, and when the stream ends the recording comes back to share. One stream runs at a time in each community.

  • Go live from the composer, in the space you pick
  • You host; other admins join as guests, with camera, mic and screen share
  • Members join from the post in the feed with Join room
  • The recording appears about a minute after the stream and can be posted to the feed

How community events work on Vonza

From a blank calendar to a recording in the feed, in four steps.

  • STEP 01

    Pick a format

Open Events, choose New event and start from a format or from scratch. The format fills in a title, description, length and place.

  • STEP 02

    Set when, where and who

Pick the date, time zone and length, make it repeat, paste a meeting link or add an address, and show it to everyone or to members of selected spaces.

  • STEP 03

    It lands on the calendar

You see it on the Calendar and List views; members see it under Upcoming in the community’s Events, RSVP, and get reminder emails before it starts.

  • STEP 04

    Meet, or go live

Members join from the link when it is time, or join your Vonza stream from the feed. Afterwards, post the recording for anyone who missed it.

Questions about community events

Start from scratch or from one of seven formats: Q&A (a question queue with upvotes), Workshop (agenda, materials and homework), Co-working (focus blocks and a video room), Webinar (a talk with a registration cap and waitlist setting), Office hours (time split into slots), Live stream (a Vonza stream made on save) and Meetup (address, map link and venue notes). A format fills in the title, description, length and place, and you can change everything after.

Every event has its own page in the community, and members see them in the Events section under Upcoming, Going and Past. As the owner you plan them on a Calendar view, with a dot for each event in its format’s colour, or on a List view of the next and last three months. The calendar shows times in your own time zone.

Yes. Any event can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, at an interval from 1 to 52, and end never, after 1 to 500 dates or on a date you pick. Each date in the series keeps its own RSVPs, and the editor warns you when clocks change during the series.

Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, GoTo Meeting and Outlook are location labels for a meeting link you paste into the event; Vonza does not connect to those services’ accounts. In person takes an address, and Other covers anything else. For Live stream, Co-working and webinars hosted on Vonza, the room is Vonza’s own, created when you save.

Members open the event and tap I’m going, or Can’t make it if plans change. Vonza sends reminder emails 24 hours, 30 minutes and 5 minutes before the start, and Add to calendar downloads an .ics file that works with any calendar app.

These are settings on the event’s format. A Webinar has a registration cap setting from 1 to 100,000 with a waitlist option, and a Meetup has an RSVP cap setting. A Q&A can collect questions before the event into a queue sorted by upvotes, which you mark answered or hide. Office hours split the session into slots of the length you choose, with a gap between them.

Choose Go live in the post composer, give the stream a title and pick a space. Vonza starts the stream and posts it to the feed; you join as the host, and other admins join as guests, with camera, mic and screen share. Members join from the post with Join room. One stream runs at a time in each community, and the recording appears about a minute after the stream ends, ready to post to the feed.

Show an event to everyone in the community or only to members of selected spaces, and turn on Feature this event to highlight it. If plans change, cancel it with an optional reason: members see it as canceled, and it stays in your list so you can refer to it.
