# Order Bumps for Every Checkout, Funnel and Form > An order bump is a small extra the buyer ticks on the checkout before paying. Add up to 5 to a Vonza checkout, a funnel’s checkout step or a payment form, and every order can be worth a little more. ## What is an order bump? An order bump is an extra offer placed on the checkout page itself, next to the payment form. The buyer adds it with a tick before paying, and it is charged in the same payment as the main item. Because the buyer has already decided to buy, a small, closely related extra is an easy yes: a workbook with a course, the recordings with a coaching programme, a planner with a membership. An order bump is not the same as an upsell. A bump is shown before payment, on the checkout. An upsell is shown after payment, on its own screen. | Compared | Order bump | One-click upsell | | --- | --- | --- | | When it is shown | On the checkout, before paying | Right after payment | | How the buyer takes it | Ticks a box | One click, on the card just used | | How many on Vonza | Up to 5 per checkout | One offer per checkout | | Paid | In the same payment | As a second payment | [How one-click upsells work](https://vonza.com/one-click-upsell) ## Add order bumps wherever you take payment The same idea in four places, so the extra sits next to whatever you sell. - **Checkouts**: Switch on “Show bump offers at checkout” and add up to 5. Each one is something you sell, or a custom line you deliver yourself. [Vonza checkout pages](https://vonza.com/checkout) - **Funnel checkout steps**: A funnel’s checkout step takes up to 5 optional extras, with one switch to turn them on or off for the whole funnel. [Sales funnels](https://vonza.com/sales-funnel) - **Payment forms**: A form that takes payment can show up to 5 add-ons next to the pay button: a course, a product, or something you deliver yourself. [Forms](https://vonza.com/forms) - **Courses**: Add bump offers to a course from its Marketing area, so the course checkout offers the extra too. You can mute your copy. - **No double charges**: Vonza will not charge a buyer for an item they already own. ## Order bump examples Good bumps are small, related to the main item and useful straight away. - **An online course + The workbook or templates**: Students use it from the first lesson. - **A coaching programme + Recordings of every live call**: Buyers can rewatch what they missed. - **A membership + A one-off welcome call**: A custom bump you deliver yourself. - **A paid community + A starter course**: New members get going on day one. - **An ebook + The audiobook version**: The same content, another way to use it. - **A physical product + A small accessory, with shipping**: It ships in the same order. The bumps appear above the pay button. ## Questions about order bumps ### What is an order bump? An order bump is a small extra offer shown on the checkout page, next to the payment form. The buyer adds it with a tick before paying, and it is charged in the same payment as the main item. ### How many order bumps can I add? Up to 5 on a Vonza checkout, up to 5 on a funnel’s checkout step and up to 5 add-ons on a payment form. ### What is the difference between an order bump and an upsell? An order bump is shown before payment, on the checkout, and the buyer ticks it. A one-click upsell is shown right after payment, on its own screen, and the buyer takes it with one click on the card they just used. ### What can I offer as an order bump? Anything you sell on Vonza: a course, a product, a membership, a bundle or a community, which the buyer gets the moment they pay. Or a custom line for something you deliver yourself, such as a call. ### Can an order bump be ticked by default? Yes. Each bump offer on a checkout has a “Ticked by default” setting. Leave it off if you want buyers to choose the extra themselves. ### Can I offer a physical product as a bump? Yes. Pick the product and add a shipping amount to the bump, and it is added to the order with the main item. ### Will a buyer be charged for a bump they already own? No. Vonza checks what the buyer already has and will not charge them for an item they already own. ### Do I get notified about orders with bumps? Yes. An order with add-ons sends an itemised email to the buyer and to you, and you can mute your own copy. The sale also appears on the checkout’s Sales page.
