# One-Click Upsells Right After Payment > A one-click upsell is an offer shown right after the buyer pays. On Vonza they take it with one click on the card they just used, without typing their card again, on checkouts and in funnels. ## What is a one-click upsell? A one-click upsell, also called a post-purchase upsell, is an offer shown right after a buyer completes a payment. The buyer accepts it with one click, and the payment details they just used are charged again. It works because the decision to buy is already made and the card is already entered. The offer only needs to be the obvious next step: a coaching call after a course, the advanced programme after the beginner one. A downsell is the smaller offer shown when the upsell is declined. An order bump is different again: it is ticked on the checkout before paying. | Compared | One-click upsell | Downsell | Order bump | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | When it is shown | Right after payment | After the upsell is declined | On the checkout, before paying | | How the buyer takes it | One click | One click | Ticks a box | | Where on Vonza | Checkouts and funnels | Funnels | Checkouts, funnels and forms | [How order bumps work](https://vonza.com/order-bumps) ## Two ways to upsell on Vonza One offer after a checkout, or a whole upsell and downsell path in a funnel. ### After a checkout Switch on “Offer one more thing” in a checkout’s After payment settings. The offer shows right after payment, before your thank-you. - One item you sell, or a custom line - One one-time price and your own button label - Then a confirmation page, your message or your link [Vonza checkout pages](https://vonza.com/checkout) ### In a funnel Add an Upsell step after the checkout, and a Downsell step for buyers who say no. Switch on “One-click purchase” on either step. - Upsell: one more thing right after a purchase - Downsell: a smaller offer when the upsell is declined - An automation can follow up when an offer is declined [Sales funnels](https://vonza.com/sales-funnel) ## How the one click works What happens between “Yes, add it” and the thank-you, on a Vonza checkout. - **The card just used**: A buyer who paid by card through Stripe is charged on that card again, with nothing to type. - **Paystack in Naira**: A buyer who paid with Paystack is charged on the card they just used, too. - **A 30-minute window**: The offer can be taken for 30 minutes after the first payment. - **Never what they own**: Vonza skips the offer when the buyer just bought that item or already owns it. - **No dead end**: If the card is declined, the page says so and shows the payment form to pay another way. - **Wallet buyers**: Buyers who paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay see the payment form for the offer. - **Affiliate credit kept**: The affiliate who referred the first purchase is kept on the offer. - **Then your thank-you**: After the offer: a confirmation page, your own message, or your own link. ## One-click upsell ideas The best offer is the next thing the buyer needs. - **After a course**: A 1:1 call to put it into practice - **After a beginner programme**: The advanced programme - **After a template pack**: A done-for-you review of their first one - **After an event ticket**: The recordings to keep - **After an ebook**: The full course on the same topic - **As a downsell in a funnel**: The self-paced version of a coaching programme [Upselling and cross-selling on the blog](https://vonza.com/blog/upselling-and-cross-selling) [Order bump examples](https://vonza.com/blog/order-bump-examples) [Best checkout software, compared](https://vonza.com/best/checkout-software) ## How to add a one-click upsell to a checkout Three steps in the checkout designer. 1. **Open After payment**: Open your checkout in the designer, go to After payment and switch on “Offer one more thing”. 2. **Choose the offer**: Pick something you sell or write a custom line, set its one-time price and the button text. 3. **Choose what comes next, then publish**: Pick the confirmation page, your own message or a link for after the offer, and publish. ## Questions about one-click upsells ### What is a one-click upsell? A one-click upsell is an offer shown right after a buyer pays. The buyer accepts it with one click and the payment details they just used are charged again, so there is no card to type. ### How does the one click work on Vonza? If the buyer paid by card through Stripe, or with Paystack, the offer is charged on the card they just used. Buyers who paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay see the payment form for the offer instead. ### What if the buyer’s card is declined? The page tells the buyer the card was declined and shows the payment form, so they can pay another way. Nothing is charged until a payment goes through. ### How long is the offer available? On a Vonza checkout the offer can be taken for 30 minutes after the first payment. It is shown right after payment, before your thank-you. ### How many upsells can I add? A checkout has one offer after payment. For a longer path, build a funnel: add an Upsell step after the checkout and a Downsell step for buyers who decline it. ### What is the difference between an upsell and a downsell? An upsell is the offer shown right after a purchase. A downsell is a smaller offer shown when the upsell is declined. On Vonza, downsells are funnel steps. ### What can I offer after payment? Anything you sell on Vonza, such as a course, product, membership, bundle or community, at one one-time price, or a custom line for something you deliver yourself. Vonza skips the offer if the buyer already owns the item. ### Is a one-click upsell the same as an order bump? No. An order bump is ticked on the checkout before paying and is charged in the same payment. A one-click upsell is shown after payment and is charged as a second payment.
